Recently, Teknik got blocked again at work, because they use some known router blacklists.
Upon investigating, Spamhaus reports that Teknik.io has been hacked.
I was caught trying to use a VPN extension to bypass that and, truth be told, that’s not an actual solution. I deserved that, despite they wrongly pictured me as the hacker, when I am not. I was just trying to sync text files through Git and check my webmail.
This starts to give me some concerns, specially while Teknik still provides upload service for anonymous users. Almost everyday, there’s an upload removed because of malware on the Takedowns page.
I know this service is free and doesn’t owe me anything but I feel that I must seek another option, that I can use at work.
Anyway, this issue is still valid and is meant to improve Teknik’s security overall, for the sake of the righteous users.
It’s an ever revolving problem that cannot be solved permanently given the type of service we offer. We cannot catch everything, and if we block everything except for those that are authenticated, then that removes the biggest plus of the service.
Sure, I understand. I just got carried away with the “hacked” bit.
I just hope for the best.
