  40. You need to execute the "unpack.bat" before burning, it will unpack the .ecm file and create your
  41. .cdi image.
  42. If you need to apply any patch, do it in the unpacked .cdi file, not in the .ecm file.

  44. Well, the release was ready and I was compressing the pack. However, during the process, I noticed
  45. that compressed data was practically not changing for about 100mb past dummy of the image, meaning
  46. that there were a bunch of "zeros" somewhere. Checking the biggest file (~200+ mb), I noticed that
  47. after ~59mb it was full of zeros, meaning that there was no useful information. So I just cutted
  48. the useless part off and tested the game, no success. Then I had the idea of changing the ISO
  49. header to make game think that the short file had its nominal size. In case it tries to access
  50. data beyond file size, it will get random bytes from the rest of the ISO, but since it's only
  51. zeros (not useful), it most likely will make no difference. And it doesn't, game worked great with
  52. this change, and the "rip" had a big impact in the performance, because files got more condensed
  53. in the end of the disc. Additionally, a new optimization method was implemented in this game.
  54. Well, the idea is not exacly new (I've been partially using it since forever), but I finally
  55. wrote some tools to automatize the process so it's fully working here.
  56. The result is that the boost in performance is huge. It's definitely much better than Echelon's
  57. release, and it should even be better than the original GD. So what are you waiting for?
  58. PAL users, apply the included patch before burning to make the game work in 60hz on your consoles,
  59. else it will work in 50hz.

  61. Features of my release:
  62. - Not corrupted files at all, it was made with GD dump files.
  63. - Used custom DCRES optimization techniques. It means faster loadings and less Dreamcast reader
  64. noise.
  65. - Selfboot.
  66. About the game:
  67. - It has VGA Box support.

  69. - "Extras" folder in the pack contains some useless stuff.
  70. - Release comes with covers (low quality).
